A twelve hour train ride right through the center of the island- I survived!

It was actually very very pretty despite the rain. There were rainbows everywhere, arching over flat and hilly acres of sheep and cows. And these deer of some sort. We passed over these viaducts with deep gorges, but the water was all muddy from all the rain. The train was actually an hour late to the cafe stop because of construction on the line. We made up the time so I was only ten minutes late meeting Sarah and Justin.

Justin made this amazing dinner for me since I missed Sarah's mum's birthday dinner that afternoon. It was great!

Oh for lunch I had this toasted cheese, tomato, and avocado (they put it in everything) sandwich with french fries and tomato sauce (very sweet, not salty), and this bottled NZ water 420. For $11, not too bad.

mmmm...avocado
Any country that puts avocado in everything is good in my book! It sounds beautiful there.

420?
Curious about the name 420. Mmm avo - thanks for the idea - now I have a plan for lunch! Mum-in-law here - loves avo, too.
