Hehe
Those crazy kiwis After coming back from Milford Sound I was boring and didn't do much, just hung out with people from my dorm. The next day I was a nerd again and went on a LOTR tour, which was really good. I went and saw where the people were travelling to helsm deep (2nd movie) in those grasslands and also when they were attacked by those giant dogs (worgs? wags? forgotten the name) It was so beautiful. And i saw the rivers from the first movies and other places. It all got a bit too nerdy when they brought out replica swords that they had used in the movies. They wanted to take photos of you whilst playing with them and wearing a cloak an actor used in the movie. There was a korean guy on it who had memorised a sword routine from the movie and kept doing it. He was very weird. On the whole though it was a good day and I saw some beautiful scenery.
I did a book swop for this japanese phrase book which is one of the funniest thigns I've read. The little conversations are just SO funny and strange. Some of them are quite
The River
In the first movie where they go past those giant statues. deep e.g.
A Where were you last night?
B I was working late.
A No you weren't, I want a divorce
B But what about the kids?!
And my personal favourite...
A How was it?
B Ah, it was no sweat
A Then why are you perspiring?
Which are the exact kind of phrases that japanese people need to learn. Hahah my title is one of the phrases btw.
Anyway that night I had a bit of a shit night, I was just feelign rubbish about my birthday and beign away from home and other little thigns that add up into one big thing. Had a bit of a cry in the dorm and this guy called Dave came in and we had a DMC, he was really nice and cheered me up. I didn't really sleep though, my mind was racing.
The next day I wandered about the town and then went up the gondala's. The view was amazing. I watched some people paraglide and bungee jump and then went to the luge. The luge is basically a big go card track that goes down the mountain. It was SO much fun, there are 2
The Forest
Where right at the beginning the guy who first had the ring was attacked. tracks and the extreme one was brilliant, there were these giant hills and when yuo went over them (if you went fast enough) your cart would fly off the ground.
And then after that I went to a bird world thing cos it was tres cheap. I saw some kiwis and some kea´s but it wasn´t too interesting.
After that I went back to my dorm and it was full of girls, which was great. It had been fun in a basically all male dorm but with the girls it meant I could borrow hair straightners. they were from a bus called the kiwi experience and everynoe on the bus was meeting up and having a big night out so I joined them. I had so much fun, everyone was such a laugh.
Although I lost everyone in the end. I went to the World bar where you get cocktails in teapots (i thougth of you emma!) and there was some girl who said I was her new best friend and bought us a teapot. I was a little bit worse for wear and managed to spill it all all over the bar. Oops. By then I had lost everyone
My precious
Funny cartoon drawn by one of the ppl working for the film but i bumped into Stuart (who I went to Milford with) and we hung out fro a bit. there was some kind of concert going on otuside after the club closed. some guy who was really good was playing songs and singing which was good. He then invited us all to this club he was DJing but by then it was 5.30am so decided to call it a night.
I had to be checked out at 10am so maybe going out wasn't such a good idea, i wouldn't recommend having to pack, check out, get the airport, check in, fly to auckland and theng et to another hostel to anyone on the morning after the night before.
Oh well I survived.
So yeah now I'm goign to fly to Chile for my BIRTHDAY, which I'm not all thay excited about. Will have a party in Peru.

Happy Birthday! Yay Teapot bar! I also loved the luge at the top of the mountain. i felt such peace there! constant smiling. All of that LOTR stuff is weird, but even if you don't love the films, the scenery is just so amazing. NZ is so otherworldly. I like the river where they go by the statues, we just don't get water that colour here. Anyway, don't feel crap, it's only a birthday. What you're doing now is way better than anything you could have done back here. It's a bit strange adjusting to the 'single serving friends' thing but i think it works in the backpacking situation. Enjoy Chile and Peru. Can't wait for more photos. Love you Long time xXx mucha suerte Emma
