So I arrived safe and sound in Queenstown. Had a bit of a scare when I was flying from Rotorua though. I had asked the airline before if it was a direct flight and was told that it was, however after only being in the air for about an hour the pilot announces we are starting our descent for CHRISTCHURCH. I start to reason with myself that it is probably just a quick stopover and they will ask all people travelling to queenstown to stay on the plane like they did when I flew to Canada. However all passengers were asked to disembark etc. I start getting really worried, thinking I've got on the wrong plane and whether to act all sad or angry and to try and wondering how much a ticket to queenstown will now cost. however once I got to the lounge an announcment then explained that the plane was refuling and it was a stop off so everyone had to get out (as half the people were only flying to christchurch) and I was soon back on the plane on my way to queenstown.
For my first night I went out to a place called Ferg
New Zealand
This country is just so beautiful, I love it. This was just a stop on the way to the Sound. burger (do you remember that Emma?) which does mahoosive burgers, with 2 girls in my dorm. One was very strange and kept miaowing at innapropriate moments. she also confessed to me that she used to anorexic and she was going to start starving herself tommorow, and was very exctied about it. the next morning all the people in my dorm left, so for once I had a room to myself. It was very weird seeing 7 empty beds, it was quite lonely. I slept in and explored the town the next day and had my haircut, which I think was the best hairdresser I went to. I wish she were in the UK. I got some new roomates, 3 norwegian guys (they are the most aryan peopel I've ever seen) and 2 American girls. I booked a trip to Milford Sound which meant being picked uo outside the backpackers at 6.45am the next morning which was made much more bearable by the fact that the american girls were doing the same tour.
So this morning we all got up bright and early together and went on the 'kiwi experince' bus for the 4 hour trip to Milford sound. The time
Mirror Lakes
The cool sign. went really quickly as we did many stop offs to see the amazing scenery and also because I was chatting to the American girls and some Scottish guy I was sitting next to the whole way. The Mirror Lakes were absolutely amazing, and really the photos speak for themselves. Milford sound was spectacular, I loved the cruise. We even saw baby seals which were too cute. It was great.
The strangest thign happened. For the whole hour of the trip the sun had a big shadow cast around it, it is something I've never seen before. I managed to get a photo of it however it just looks like the camera is playing up. But it was happening in real life. Very strange maybe its a kiwi thing?
Anyway about halfway through our cruise we stpped off to go to the underwater observatory. It was really cool, there were like garden boxes infront of the windows but instead of flowers there was coral and anemones and starfish and loads of fish. aparentely 20 years go they just pur rocks on it and all that shit just grew on it. It was amazing, it looked like a coral reef. Also (sciency
bit) all the animals were actually deep sea creatures, however due to the layer of freshwater (from waterfalls and glaciers) on top of the salt water the water in unnaturally dark, so deep sea creatures grow in shallow waters. I thought it was very cool. Aparentely yesterday people saw dolphins swimming by and penguins and seals are also seen but we had no such luck. Would have been cool. My photos didn't come out well but do look a cool shade of geen so I'll put them up.
The trip back seemed to take way longer then going there, beuase we had no stops. Very strange as usually the trip back seems to take less time.
So yeah I got back to the backpackers and am uploading my photos. I'm skint so can't really go out despite the cheap drinks. May just be lame and go to sleep - I had such an early start.

Yay!
I totally remember Ferg burger. i have their business card in my photo album thing. my friend introduced me to it, but it was down some dodgy alley so i was half plotting how to kill him in case he was trying it on! but it turned out to be this cool little shop/van thing (with a massive queue after the nightclubs wind down)and then we got a veggie ferg and it was really yummy. The sounds are beautiful. i went to see that on my own, the cruise was really fun and windy. i got a great haircut in queenstown as well. miaow! speak to you soon xXx
