Hi Gringa! Hi, Becky, I am enjoying your blogs so much, and your pics are amazing. What a beautiful part of the world - it looks far more interesting than my archaic school geography book made it seem! But life sounds pretty tough in some respects. Opie also enjoys news of you and sends love. Keep well - lots of love, Anne
Wow Hey Bex! Amazing photos! the mountains looks SO beautiful and you look glowing - you are obviously having an amazing time.
We are all doing fine here. Roan is doing carpentry in the city building a school and he really is getting his life in line and up to speed. Leitha and Jesse are so well and doing fine. Veryan loving his new found passion of writing poetry.
Lovely to be reading your blog!
much love and hugs,
Val and the gang
Hi Bex Wow, Peru looks amazingly beautiful! Its fun to read what you're up to all your amazing adventures and creepy foodstuffs too.
We're fine. roan got a great job working on a construction site in the city and it loving it. Leitha doing well too. Have a fabulous time.

Val

To Becky Hey Becky,
How are you doing? i get the feeling you are feeling a bit homesick from your blog and the phone chat. We all miss you too.
I wish i had some advice for you, but New Zealand wasn't anywhere near as much as a culture shock as Peru, so i didn't really get homesick. It's really difficult being in a country where you're practically illiterate and are visually a foreigner. I think you're doing really well, especially with your Spanish.
You aren't really missing anything back here. We are all super busy with essays and exam preparation so we aren't having mega fun or anything, how could we without BECKY! plus we don't have an alpaca! do you think you could smuggle me one back? they're so cute!
Anyway, i guess what i'm trying to say is chin up old girl!
we're all thinking of you
kisses
Emma xXx
Happy Birthday!
Yay Teapot bar! I also loved the luge at the top of the mountain. i felt such peace there! constant smiling. All of that LOTR stuff is weird, but even if you don't love the films, the scenery is just so amazing. NZ is so otherworldly. I like the river where they go by the statues, we just don't get water that colour here.
Anyway, don't feel crap, it's only a birthday. What you're doing now is way better than anything you could have done back here. It's a bit strange adjusting to the 'single serving friends' thing but i think it works in the backpacking situation.
Enjoy Chile and Peru. Can't wait for more photos.
Love you Long time xXx
mucha suerte
Emma
Hola! Chica! I'm so jealous, it sounds great. Did the girl actually starve herself? I want to see these new pics. Mirror lake looks super pretty. Butters, oh the coolness. My gossip was pretty gossipy, no? I'll keep you posted
Peace Out
XxXx
Yay! I totally remember Ferg burger. i have their business card in my photo album thing. my friend introduced me to it, but it was down some dodgy alley so i was half plotting how to kill him in case he was trying it on! but it turned out to be this cool little shop/van thing (with a massive queue after the nightclubs wind down)and then we got a veggie ferg and it was really yummy.
The sounds are beautiful. i went to see that on my own, the cruise was really fun and windy. i got a great haircut in queenstown as well.
miaow!
speak to you soon xXx
Wow! You look like you're having an amawing time so far. It sounds so jam packed with trips and new people.
I love the colour of some of those lakes, the acid green lake and champagne lake are particularly impressive; are you sure they don't put gallons of food dye into them?
Don't get homesick, remember this is a once in a life time opportunity and six months isn't really that long...
Hey you I'm glad you like NZ! i remember that sulphury smell! i was pretty glad to get out of rotorua in case it all went the way of that road.
it still sounds like your having a good time and your pics are great. it's a shame the colours never really show up on camera as vividly as they are in real life, but i guess that's kinda what makes it a special experience. looking at the pictures is in no way the same as being there.
anyways, hope you enjoy Queenstown
take care
love and hugs
Emma xXx
Check out Russel Brand! he does have a hairbrush When you go back with your working Visa i'm so visiting!
There's something about travelling that makes you happy to sit on your own, where normal people are terrified of it. All your photo's are so beautiful.
Me and Rip are so jealous (or he will be when he reads that tv comment)
Keep having fun
love you long time

I'm Becky, I'm 18 and am travelling in my gap year before going to university in September. I've always wanted to travel and it now seems so surreal that it is finally happening. I'm leaving on Thursday 8th March and am going to *drum roll* South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Peru, America, Canada and then home. I'm going for 6 months in total and decided to make this blog instead of sending loads of those impersonal chain emails to everyone I know.... full info
