So there was no running with the bulls. After Dan and I arrived at the Barcelona airport in Girona on Thursday night, we checked all the possible trains, buses, and rental cars that could take us to Pamplona. All were either booked or way too expensive. So we made the executive decision to stay in Barcelona until Sunday.

It was quite an easy decision, really, in view of the events in London. I personally received a number of emails from concerned friends and family. So… ‘thank you.’ I was even surprised to seem my name picked up on the AP Wire.

In a nutshell… Barcelona is one of the most beautiful cities I have ever visited.

It was quite nerve-racking to arrive in a city where we had no hostel or hotel reservations in what I’m sure was the peak of tourist season… but we managed… and Dan’s spanish was invaluable.

Like I said in my last post, I lost my digital camera at Gatwick Airport in London (I’m still waiting to hear back from them). As a result… I was less that enthusiastic about writing for the blog.

But between Dan’s digital camera and two disposables…

We found a hostel on the first knock, which was unexpected... this shot is after dinner at Sixties Restaurant... we had Tapas.
we managed to collect more than 100 pictures. So I’ll let the photos tell the story.

Adios.

A liquor made from wormwood... and illegal in the U.S. I didn't see the big deal. We're at the London Bar in this picture... apparently Hemingway used to drink here... and everywhere else.

It's hard to see... but this street is the most active artery of Barcelona... it easily stretches 12 blocks full of people.

It wasn't the greatest place... but it beat the bus station. Dan's quote of the trip: "Man... the hostel woman's gingivitis is kickin'"

"Hemingway used to drink here... and everywhere else" - smart.
