It took from 8:15pm on Saturday local time in Istanbul to 2:30am on Monday local time in Melbourne for us to get home. A long and tiring trip, but the flight itself was uneventful. What was, for so long, something we were looking forward to, is now memories that will last our lifetimes.
So by the numbers,
• We rode in 14 countries,
• and dealt with 6 different currencies,
• We travelled over 4,500kms in distance,
• We climbed just on 20,000m in vertical height
• We stayed in 67 different hotels/apartments and
• We created countless memories.

It's quite a thing to sit back now and reflect on what we have just completed. There was never a thought before hand of us not completing the trip, but while travelling it became obvious that any number of things could have derailed it. Whether that was physical injury, mechanical issues or environmental. The fact we managed to forge ahead to Istanbul despite the daily events is a testament to our determination and endurance. We may not be spring chickens any more, but there's plenty of life left in the old legs.

To all of you, thanks for all or your support by providing comments, encouragement and "Likes" on the blog. Hopefully you got a feel for what we were experiencing with a little humour thrown in.

To my riding buddies,
Tom, as always, you bring a big heart and light nature to the table. You are always ready to go to the front and work hard no matter the conditions. It was a pleasure riding with you and I hope we can share another adventure soon.

Jeff, without you this trip would never have happened. Your idea morphed a number of times BEFORE we left, and then again a number of times AFTER. Thanks for the journey and commaraderie, it really was an Epic Adventure.

Thanks Gav
I think I'll let this one sink in first, although we may have had informal discussions on possiblities.
