Happy 2023 to everyone. It’s a new start so let it be a happy one, healthy one, everyone deserves this wish.
Thank you for all the cards and good wishes that found their way to our home. We didn’t expect them but it was so fun to open our mail to see personal cards so far from Lynnwood.
The RV Park here remembered the reason for the season with a Christmas Eve service that was quite touching with music, lit candles for Silent Night, the Hallelujah Chorus, and a really good turnout.
Our Christmas celebration was unique this year, to say the least. No tree in our RV, no typical wrapped presents, but that didn’t keep Mr. Amazon Santa away. Santa brought us a table for outside use that collapses and is lightweight but big enough for 6 of us to sit around and work on. Santa brought us 2 outdoor chairs that rock but they don’t look like conventional rocking chairs, but then, nothing for an RV seems conventional. No stockings but candy still appeared in cute packages. I still got my daily notebook. And our feast was beyond my wildest imagination.
The day was comfortable
enough to wear shorts and sandals. At 11:00ish, my new friend and I went to the ballroom to decorate our table. When we checked in, we were assigned a table of 10. The park provided the ham for each table and the “guests” provided the sides and decorations. I offered dessert of course. For a tablecloth, we used wrapping paper of blue with white snowflakes. I had brought along a feather tree, 2 battery tree candles, some crocheted tea light snowflake holders, and lots of snowflakes and lots of tea lights. I sprinkled “snow” around the centerpiece and added Hershey kisses (do I need to say Hershey?) and as you can tell, we were festive. We received lots of compliments. Then I crocheted extra snowflakes to give as party favors to everyone at our table. The red plates were to designate seating spots. When we all gathered again at 3:00, we met 2 new couples at our table and became fast friends. As with God’s provisions, there were leftovers for us all. I wore a red and white Hawaiian dress to be fun. So, while the rest of the country was freezing under real snowflakes, snowflakes were our theme.
Counter Decoration.
Natalie worked to make home look like Christmas. She did a mighty nice job. New Year’s Eve was appetizers with these friends, learning more about them. January 1 was unique. I couldn’t think of a new tradition to add to our life, so we watched the latest episode of The Chosen and ate more appetizers. And now with decorations put away, Christmas is in our hearts once again and life looks like it did in November. Except we get to swim in the outdoor pool every day and enjoy fresh lemons from our own tree. (Almost every RV has a citrus tree, and it belongs to the RV at the space.)
It has been 6 months now since we moved into the RV. We have been so blessed with new friends, fun, experiences we never could have imagined, and more on this walk of faith. It is so satisfying to be in the company of like-minded folks of our ages who are Christian, conservative, patriotic. We will be staying in Yuma until early February, since the weather is nicer here than anywhere else. But as these new friends scatter to points beyond, we will miss them too. They have made memories in our hearts.
We see lots of Washington state and Canada
Snowflakes Over The Chairs.
She really likes making these crocheted snowflakes. license plates. Even a golf cart with Washington plates at the mini golf area here in the RV park.
We love to hear what is happening in your neck of the woods because we miss you folks as well. After all, we spent 30+ years with you and we haven’t forgotten our good times and friendship.
Recognize your blessings each day. God is with us.
