Today is a day where the ship moves to a new place and doesn’t stop anywhere. They call them Sea Days. You sleep in, walk the ship, play games, etc. I slept until 6am (that's 8am Missouri time). I walked a little bit of the ship which is ornate but not too gaudy. The fog was so bad today the captain had to blow the horn every three minutes for most of the day until late this afternoon. The only thing we could see off our balcony was fog. It still felt great sitting out there… for about 15 minutes at a time. There was no view and it was chilly-chilly. This afternoon things have cleared-up and you can see the mountains peeking out from the clouds.
I found the REAL walking track after dinner tonight!! I had been going up to the 10
th deck and walking in wind that almost blew me over and at one point today I was walking and the fog horns blew and scared the crud outta me! Well, this evening I was on deck 2 and our cabin is on deck 6 so I decided to take the stairs. I get to the landing
on deck 3 and I see a guy walk outside of the glass elevator and I’m like… how did he do THAT? I skulked around a bit and found doors leading to the outside and lo and behold… a full-on covered, much less windy, walking and running track with actual people walking and/or running! I was giddy! I had just met my step goal for the day but I did 1/3 of a mile which is one lap around the track/around the ship. I even found where the service dogs pee but I’ve yet to see a service dog on the ship yet. I would probably steal it and smother it with love. Not really. I’m not psycho. But I do love dogs…cats….animals in general. I mean, I love Kamie and we all know he’s not normal. Sometimes I miss Arthur but I know mom is taking good care of him.
What else did we do today? Not much. Today was a boring day for me - I checked-out the spa and the Hydrotherapy pool (I wasn't impressed), the shops, etc. I drank too much Bailey’s in my iced coffee and spent almost $100 playing Bingo but it’s okay
because I spent so much on Bingo tickets, they gave me a free scratcher tickets (so cruise ships now sell lottery scratch tickets – how odd is that) and I won $20. So… I actually spent $80 on Bingo?! ? Ha After too much Bailey’s without coffee, and I took a long nap. I woke-up and grabbed some ice water and decided it was tea, Arnold Palmers (half tea/half lemonade) and water for me the rest of this cruise. My drinking-once-a-year on vacation is over. Wasted calories too.
Today we found out Dorothy from the Golden Girls and her husband Bob are going on an excursion off the ship with us tomorrow. It’s a small-group of 20 and Dorothy says “Well, we already know four people!” She is a peculiar lady. I also met one of my husband’s smoking deck friends - Sam. Sam is cool. He’s here with a big group. He and three other guys are going salmon fishing tomorrow. He’s a good storyteller. He’s also good looking which makes his stories even more interesting....unlike this blog.
Tomorrow… Juneau, Alaska!

Those daily rug changes are always fun. My sister and I got on the elevator at 12:01am once and the carpet was already changed. We cheered. We were also drunk which helped with the enthusiasm :)
