Another cool day in Morgantown. Took Leo for a morning walk. Neighbor across the street had water running out of the house. The lady said she was on vacation too and couldn't find the shutoff valve. She contacted the manager, but no one had arrived yet We had a nice breakfast. We decided to head to Daughin Island. We lined up for the ferry ride. Leo was sure he was at the bank and was waiting for a treat from the guy at the ticket booth. 40 minutes on the ferry across the bay. We drove across Daughin Island. Lori was dropped off on the west end of the island with the bike for a ride back to town. Should have checked the wind before the drop off. Next time will need to remember to ride with the wind. Met back up with the family in town and went to the local seafood place. Picked out our seafood and had it steamed at the store and then off to a local park for our seafood lunches. We drove back to the ferry dock and got parked in line for the next ferry. We had some time to wait until the next ferry, so we did some exploring and had some ice cream. Leo found a look alike girl dog and a few other furry friends to greet while we had our ice cream. The ferry ride back took us closer to the oil rigs. Pedro was trying to get a nice picture of the oil rigs, but we were in the front row on the ferry so the waves kept hitting the front of the ferry and splashing onto the truck. After several waves splashing into the truck, he finally was content with his photo. We drove back to Morgantown for bit of relaxation on the deck. It has finally warmed up enough to really sit and enjoy the beautiful sunshine. Next Leo got another walk on the beach. We walked to the east into the wind so on the way back we would be with the wind. Lots of families out on the beach enjoying the relatively warmer weather. Some were actually going into the surf. Some were still sitting with stocking caps on to keep warm. I guess the temperature is all relative. I am sure the kids in the surf are used to swimming in the Great Lakes. Gulf temperatures are definitely warmer than the Great Lakes in August. Another quiet dinner in Morgantown. Leo is exhausted again and snoozing. His feet are occasionally running in place while he sleeps as dogs sometimes do. Dreaming of another day in paradise tomorrow with walks on the beach and stops for ice cream.
