Pink Day
Pink Day, Breast Cancer fundraising Hamptons style.. Pink bubbly!! Christmas is already in the air in London, as are the Christmas lights and Guy Fawkes fireworks.. Apparently so is the “un seasonably warm weather” that has the ice rinks melting, while I’m freezing!!
It’s been a busy past month in London town (so lots of photo's to share!!).. Celebs have been cruising all over London, with the likes of Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton crashing the night scene, Michael Jackson causing drama’s and even the Queen was more than excited to attend the premiere of James Bond!!
I’ve had the excitement of catching up with friends from home and then had the tears rolling as they leave again.. Frustration with trying to stretch out every penny and budget living in the most expensive city in the world while inviting some of England’s most wealthy to our upcoming office Launch Party, and the anticipation of another birthday, but the fear of not having the excuse of being young and the loneliness that comes of knowing that I will celebrating it on my own!
Victoria’s mum was in town, after Vic spent some time with her in Holland before they drove back with a car packed full of goddies,
Flirting with the enemy..
Caught dancing red-handed with a Property Manager at Foxtons.. The competition!! a much needed TV, and a freezer stacked of frozen stews and home made cooking!! Mum and Dad also sent some essentials of their own; Clinkers, Vegemite, Gummy Bears and my little cousin’s Party Bag from her birthday.. So I felt very, very loved!!
I drove the office slightly mad with Pink Day for Breast Cancer Research, instead of the traditional afternoon tea, we decided that it needed a Hampton’s bubble! I made “Pink Packs” for each of the 70 branches and our own office was decorated in pink balloons, staff all wore pink or faced the threat of one of my pink sparkly head bands, and each donated before popping the pink champagne! Our CEO’s agreed to match each pound raised by each of our branches and offices making it Hampton’s most successful donation ever!!
Keeping with the bubbling theme, Vic and I managed an invite to a Moet and Chandon party, at No.1 Leicester Square. Amazing views, as the venue windows overlooking the whole of London in three levels, a Restaurant, Club and VIP lounge where the party was held, where we were surrounded by the snobbiest crowd of cigar smokers, but we won’t complain to
Goodie time!!
Emma hasn\'t forgotten me.. She sent me a lolly bag from her birthday party even though I wasn\'t there!! a free night out!!
And the London skies were all lit up for Guy Fawkes day, aka Bonfire night, where huge firework displays and bonfires are lit in an old London tradition. Not having any fireworks of our own, we only had to look out of the view behind our apartments to see a whole line of displays across the river!
Cat and Simon were back in town, working at Gordon Ramsey’s new restaurant/pub in Maiden Vale before Simon headed over to Paris, and I spent a few days catching up with Cat before she jumped on a Contiki Tour around Europe heading home for Christmas. And Phil, an old manager from Crown, spent a week on the couch, making friends in our local pub (that we are still yet to go into!) and watching as much football as he could squeeze into his trip!
We took him along to the turning on of the Christmas lights by our very own Peter Andre! Nothing more than a big hype, a bang of confetti and a lit up street, but all a part of the tourist thing!!
And Erin and her husband Dan came in from China
More Goodies!!
Dad hasn't forgotten me either.. for a whirl wind entertainment tour of London, squeezing 3 musicals and 3 movies into their 4 day stay in London before backpacking their way up to Newcastle to be with Dan’s family for Christmas.
So with everyone back out on their adventures, Vic and I decided a trip out to Portobello Market was long overdue. We kept our hands in our pockets while we poked around, getting inspiration for Christmas gifts and sussing out the crowds. There were amazing stalls filled with all sorts of old and antique treasures, one lady put her pups to work with an old pram filled with snuggled up dogs and a fantastic brass band performed by a group of “hoodies”!!
And it was Mum to the rescue this week, as my shoes stared to fall apart and loose their “puddle proofing”!! Not just sending me one of my own pairs from home, she bought me another two, plus some Christmas deco’s and the essential Aussie chocolates! Love mummy’s!!
Otherwise it has just been the usual, work rest and play! Tonight is out to Bond Street’s Christmas lights, and this weekend trying out my skills on the ice at Sommerset House!!
Guy Fawkes Day
The view from behind our apartments. The Christmas parties are starting, particularly excited about Hampton’s black tie do on the Kensington Roof Gardens owned by Richard Branson.. Swish, Swish!! But first my birthday.. Not a teenager for much longer!! WOOOOHOOO!!!
Until next time xo

Dear - is it all play and no work?
Dearest Megan. All these photo's and stories make it sound like you play all day (and night) - your Mother told me you had a Job!!!!. Little Sister (aka your mum) told me that you wore your shoes out from working such long hours - and that's why she came to to the rescue this week. Reading your update, looks more like its the Covent Garden Pub Crawl that's causing your shoes stared to fall apart and loose their “puddle proofing”!! I promise I won't tell if you don't tell (lets just hope she does not read this comment). Always in my thoughts Little Miss Megan - Happy Birthday dear. lots and lots of love - Ian PS Don't mention you were crying when you update the blog - your mother has a de-hydration attack every time she read's it
