Okay, So We LiedOkay, So We LiedOkay, So We Lied

Sorry, another waterfall; this time across a fjord with telephoto lens.
Spent a few days in Hafslo at an idyllic setting but not much for dramatic photography, just time to relax a bit. Apartment was small, but the use of space exceedingly efficient; we liked it a lot, and the view, sheep chatting with us, what can we say?

The female half of the owners has a Norwegian dad, an ex-cruise ship captain who married an American woman from Key West. The entire family visits that area for a month or two in the winter. Although her parents elect to live in Norway (sure don't blame them), the extended family is more American than most. Nice folks.

Drive from Hafslo to Grainger took bit over six hours with numerous stops-pleasant. Bought tickets for another fjord cruise tomorrow. Weather continues very warm by local standards, seventies with low humidity.

The River, Not Waterfall

Reason for this shot is not the little waterfall (but adds a bit), it's the milky green water of the river. Show you reason for the color next.

This one well over an hour's drive on one lane roads meant to handle traffic both ways and, of course, numerous tunnels. Long walk up, Bird said "ain't gonna happen".

Another picture off our deck. Small Beech Mountain size ski resorts dot the country. Bit steeper than Beech; I'd say more like the run off the gondola at Baby Bird's favorite resort, Jackson Hole. Yes BB and Doozer, steeper than it looks.

On the trip from Hafslo to Grainger we passed this resort and snapped a couple of shots. Here is the first. Eat your hearts out Monsters and Doozer, skiing in July!

But this one includes the Troll Road. Look to the right of the cruise ship-that is a road! Yep, has a couple of switchbacks. We climbed it, and will traverse it twice more before departure to Alesund.

Still flying up above the ground. Isn't that what Bird's do?
