It was a long day for us to Ft Lauderdale. This trip took us through 21 bascule bridges. Most were on a schedule which we seemed to be off of for a couple. This just meant we waited around for 20 minutes to half hour for the scheduled opening. All in all the trip was 10-1/2 hours, but a very nice day. The weather cooperated quite nicely. No wind to speak of which meant motoring all the way. Of course, with so many bridges, sailing would have been difficult.

We finally arrived at our anchorage (Lake Sylvia) at about 6pm. We got everything settled, had a nice dinner and died!

The next few days were nice. We went ashore one day and took a trip to the grocery and the liquor store. Stopped and had lunch at a raw bar where we had tied the dinghy. They charged $10 to leave the dinghy there, however, put that money towards your lunch ticket. Nice.

We stayed here through Monday, March 5 at which time we headed further south.

We flip the dinghy up on its side on the back platform for transport. Buddy thought he'd take a little walk on the pontoon. Cat's claws on an inflatable! Yikes!!

Cats - Ft Lauderdale
Hi Debbie, thanks about the 'previous' button. LOL I didn't even think of that. I was wondering about the cats, it pretty cool to see they've adjusted. Buddy sure looks like he's made him self at home.
