Advise on the South Pacific- where to go, what to see etc...

Hi!
I am currently living and working in Melbourne, Australia. I am here on a working holiday visa which expires at the end of the year and, seizing the moment, I am intending to do as much travelling as I possibly can when I'm on this side of the world. Hence I have decided to travel around the South Pacific. Nothing has been booked yet, but I plan on going Aus to NZ then to Rarotonga in the Cook Islands - Nuka Alofa in Tonga - Noumea in New Caledonia - Port Vila in Vanuatu- Apia in Samoa before heading over State side and then back to Europe.
My question is- how much time should I have in each place? How much money should I calculate to spend? (I am a backpacker, so nothing fancy planned) What islands should I see, and which ones deserve to be missed? Is it easy to get around the islands, or do I need to book in advance? Do I need any particular vaccination for this? I am travelling on my own and I really want to do this, but it's unfamiliar territory so I need all the advise I can get!
Thanks!

Hello Eva 😊

I moved this to the Oceania forum. Here is where those with information about the South Pacific will likely be looking.
