has anyone been on these tours yet that can help me out with my planning of my world trip i have been told that these tours are the best way to get around in these parts of the world so i'm just looking for some advise.

also if anyone has been in them how much spending money do you think that me and my girlfriend will need? we are in fiji for 2 weeks, NZ for 1 month and OZ for 1 month and 3 weeks
we want to travel from the top island in new zealand to thebottom and fly or boat to sydney then travel up the coast to cairns. any feedback would be much appreciated.

thanks in advance.

Hello Goggzie 😊

I moved this thread to this forum because this is where those with information about Fiji, NZ and Australia will likely be looking.
Here is a link to a thread which might interest u. Looks like Oz experience suits some people and not others.

As far as I know OZ Experience is separate from Kiwi and Fiji (and very different in terms of service).

In terms of NZ travel - I did Stray which was very cool www.straytravel.com . I'd heard too many bad things first hand about Kiwi...

Though with all of these bus tours - the main thing is the (mostly) hassle free travel and meeting heaps of cool people.

Kiwi Experience is a fantastic way to get around New Zealand. They take you to all the best spots, many of which you just couldn't find on your own. Also you are travelling with a load of like minded people so can make a great set of travelling companions. They also make it easy for you to book the best activities without pressuring you to do things you dont want to do. They may give you a gentle nudge to do a bungy but as soon as you say no then they will let you off if its not your thing! I would wholeheartedly recommend it.

As for Oz experience it was nowhere near as good as Kiwi but still decent. Alot of people feel ripped of by it but if you read all the small print then there arn't too many suprises. Its just that they charge some small extras on some trips that you might not expect if you havn't fully looked into it. I still enjoyed it, but whereas with the kiwi I would say definately go for it, with Oz I would say really look at your options and have a think what you want from your trip.

I've just started my own website to offer just this type of advice but as of yet there's not much content on it. If you go on your trip though then please remember the little bit of help i've offered and maybe write a little review or something in return at www.backpack-new-zealand.co.uk as I would really appreciate this.

Have a wicked time and with any trip like this remember to do it exactly how you want to as it might be a once in a lifetime experience Reply to this

I'm heading out to NZ in May (after LA and San Fran) and staying with friends in Auckland until the begining of July when I'll be taking the Kiwi Experience Zephyr tour down to Queenstown and stay down there with another friend till October/November time before moving on to Oz.

If anyone is thinking of taking one of the Kiwi tours around the same time, gimmie a shout as Im always up for a beer or three. 😊 Reply to this
