Reply to this Canoa and Montanita are both really good. Very chilled out and good for surfing. Montanita especially is very tourist-orientated with loads of hostals and bars. If you want something a bit quieter Los Frailes is really beautiful in one of the national parks but can be a bit hard to get to.

Just a few hours passing the border with Ecuador you´ll find beautiful beaches like Mancora, Punta Sal, Zorritos, etc... the right ones to practice all water sportsand enjoy the relaxing enviroment.

Reply to this If you want a beach to yourself, then go to Los Frailes on the coast at the Machalilla National Park
