I have a quick question if anyone would be so kind as to help / share there thoughts?
My girlfriend and I will be looking to book up a return ticket to South America in late May / early June and return to the United Kingdom in September 2008.
I would ideally like to fly into Rio de Janeiro and fly out of Quito but would be willing to do it the opposite way round. I’ve been quoted at £968 (STA Travel) which seems quite expensive especially the modest saving I’ll be making on a round the world ticket. Does anyone know of any internet sites / agents I could utilise to obtain a better price or is this the best price I’m likely to ascertain???
If so I suppose it’s prudent to opt for a straight return ticket as I’ve heard these can be purchase for around £600??
Lastly, regarding internal flights is it easier enough to book them up when I’m out there or do you get better rates if you do so in advance - once again if anyone has any good website I could purchase such fights it would be appreciated?
My intended Trip Itinerary is as follows - Rio - Sao Paulo - Iguaçu - Buenos Aires - La Paz - Lima - Quito
Thanks in advance,
Mark
Reply to this Hi,
Can't really help with the Rio end of the trip but STA was the best price I found for return flight to Quito. I'm going in June for £636. You can try Trailfinders as they are usually quite good. If you do go for STA however, book soon and don't fly after June 18th as their prices go up without warning and go up by over £200 as soon as you hit the beginning of the summer holidays.
Have fun!
Reply to this Thanks for the response -
Managed to get quote for £856.00 from trailfinders (Into Rio from UK end of May - out of Quito to UK mid Sept) but from surfing the net most companies won't let you look for the 'jour' tickets on their search engines which is most frustrating!!!
Does anyone have any further website / agencies I could utilise?
Thanks
