Well I would like to help to any people who need information about trips in Peru, it will be a pleasure. I would like to meet friends too and to organize trips around Peru.

Hi

Ill be in Peru as part of my RTW trip in summer 2008, and I just want to get some info as to the things I shouldnt be missing.

As on my trip I am visiting over 20 countries, it cannot be an extremely detailed trip of Peru, so Im just looking to do the best bits.

So far the parts I really want to do are Macchu Piichu and Cusco, Huacachina, and Lima. Is there anything drastic I am missing?

Thanks

Sorry to be direct, but why so many people talk about Huacachina as a major attraction, since it is somewhat larger then a swimming pool, expensive as hell place to stay that offers sandboarding and buggy rides. Nothing more...and yes, It's a suburb of Ica. And Ica has some more interesting places to see, like wine cellars, museo Cabrera, local museum and so on.
To say Cuzco with MP equals Huacachina is definitely not true...
Lake Titicaca (floating islands and so on), nature 'round Arequipa with the town itself, Nazca lines, islas Ballestas ar just some of the southern charms of Peru.
And north? Trujillo pyramides, huge Chan Chan, tomb of Senor del Sipan, Cajamarca, Chachapoyas with Kuelap, Revash and so on, beaches, food...
And there are many more places, I find even Pucallpa or Tingo Maria interesting...

I realise that Huacachina may be small and a bit of a tourist trap. But I love different sports and adrenalin rushes, hence I really want to have some fun on the dunes. Thats all, I'm not going for its culture, just to slide down a slope on a sandboard. Simple. Reply to this
