Planning a six month driving trip from Vancouver, BC to Panama - looking for tips and info.

I am planning to drive from Vancouver, BC to Panama for the next six months. I am wondering if anyone has done a similar journey and would appreciate any tips or advice. I've been reading as much as possible from guidebooks, but it would be great to know some routes and not to miss places that may be off the beaten track. Thanks! Reply to this
