whats the best way to get from dunedin to queenstown then from queenstown to franz josef and after all that I need to get back to auckland from franz josef to get my flight home
are the trains or bus from dunedin to queenstown and queenstown to franz josef ?

Reply to this there are buses from dunedin to queenstown, that is not a problem. There should be buses from queenstown to franz josef. Then I would take a bus to westport and the trans alpine rail trip ( a must do) to christchuch, and then fly from there. Pacific blue just started flying from christchurch, and they have the cheapest fares to auckland.

Reply to this there are a few companies, I am sure that you can google them and find something. We have a car and have not needed to use the bus, we do see them all the time though.
