Honeymoon activities just outside of Manzanillo and advice on what to expect.
For our honeymoon, my fiance and I are going to be staying in a pretty primative looking house in the Gandoca-Manzanillo Wildlife Reserve. The downstairs of the house has no outside walls, and the upstairs bedroom has only screens. It looks like a pretty nice place and has gotten good reviews. I am just wondering if this is safe. I would assume that the animals would stay away, but I dont know. There is about a half mile walk through the jungle to get to the ocean, and I have heard about many kinds of poisonous snakes in the area. Also, i know we need bug spray, but are the bugs so miserable that we wont enjoy ourselves? Does anyone know about the beaches in this area? I hear they are pretty much deserted. Is this true or are there many tourists around? I would also like to arrange a day trip to Panama. Does anyone have any advice on where a good place to go is within driving distance(or boating)? Is crossing the border hard/dangerous? Any ziplining in this area? I haven't been able to find much info on this area of Costa Rica. I want some adventure, but nothing that will ruin my honeymoon. Also, this is my fiance's first trip out of the country. Since I LOVE to travel, I dont want to make him hate leaving the states and refuse to do it again. I am trying to ease him into traveling abroad. I would just like some advice on what to expect in this area.
