My girlfriend and I are heading to the East Coast of Australia in October for about a month. Im just trying to figure out approximately what i should expect to spend (per day/week maybe). Obviously its different for everyone depending on what activities you do and how you get around. But, if you have an idea or experience i would love to hear any input. Reply to this

I would have to say it depends where you want to go and what exactly you want to do but being an Aussie myself I might be able to help. If you're staying in a hotel, you'll be looking at around $100 a night at least. Hostels will obviously be cheaper. Its relatively easy to get around places like Sydney and Melbourne by public transport (especially Melbourne, where there never seem to be any ticket inspectors on trams or trains!) If I'm going to the east coast I'll generally budget $50-$100 (Aussie $ that is) for food, travel expenses etc but I usually end up spending way less unless there's something specific I want to do, like snorkelling in QLD or climbing the Harbour Bridge in Sydney!
Let me know if there's anything else you need help with! Reply to this
