Hi Niamh and Steve !

You can visit Nasca Lines, over flight in aeroplane aprox. 30 minutes; Colca Canyon in Arequipa; Lake Titicaca in Puno, Huaraz town, in the north of Peru beautiful beaches : Mancora (Piura) and Punta Sal (Tumbes) and of course Lima City with beautiful churches, museums, Main Square.
Don´t forget try our delicious food and cocktels, wines and "Chicha" .

Enjoy your trip ! Reply to this

It is good to be in Peru - everywhere. Been six times in that country - believe me, there is no miss.
Some places are more touristic and expensive, but soon you'll discover that Peru has a charm of
it's own: I had been to some remote parts, not touristic, and there I had discovered it is far
better and traditional, full of impressions.
My favourites in Peru:
1. Chachapoyas with Kuelap fortress
2. Cajamarca
3. Tarapoto, Juanjui and surroundings of the Huallaga river
4. Puno and Lake Titicaca
5. Tingo Maria
6. Road to Anticona from Lima, with scenic towns along the way
7. Chiclayo (beautiful northern town)
8. Ica, definitely interesting place
9. Pucallpa (a beauty itself)
10. Lima, Lima, Lima, discover more than the Park Kennedy....
So, you see, I'm not a fan of Machu Picchu and Cuzco, real Peru is not there for me....
My ideal of a good trip in Peru now is Oxapampa - I'll do it soon.
And take notice: although letsgoperu says that wine is good, believe me, beer in Peru is fantastic:
Cusquena, Arequipena, San Juan, Pilsen Callao - good. And fresh juices on the street.
No mistakes in Peru - just a good time.

Hi Niamh & Steve,

This is a good travel agency for the Inka trail and alternative treks to Machu Picchu: http://www.besttravelperu.com
Also, for your Amazon question, have a look at http://www.pariamanu.com for great jungle treks!

All the best!

well, i saw many comentaries about attractive tourist in peru and is possible that would you like to know many places here; one of the best city in peru is cusco because it has to machupicchu, it was the inkas empire...if you need more information about cusco for example; what the weather like in cusco now? festivities for this month, sacred valley, city tour(sacsayhuaman, qenqo, pucapucara and tambomachay), etc; then you can do books:
