I will be in Chile during a rainy time of the year. I want to travel light and don't feel like bringing a pair of rainboots, hiking shoes, running shoes...day shoes...etc...
Can anyone suggest a pair of good shoes that I could use on an everyday basis that are waterproof/warm/durable and not too bulky?
Reply to this Apparently there are hiking trainers that are better than boots due to the size/breathability it's what I'll be opting for whenever I can't get away with flip-flops (my natural feet attire). Have fun
Reply to this I highly suggest Keen's. They are by far the best shoe investment I've ever made....especially traveling in South America.
Reply to this Another vote here for Keen's. I've had several pair and they are simply the best in terms of features, durability, and comfort. If they still make them, I suggest the Cortina...
Reply to this Hi JackStar, I don't have a recommendation for a particular pair of boots but what I can recommend are Gortex oversocks. Just wear them over your normal socks, and you can tuck the bottom of your trouser leggins into them if you want. Would allow you to take a lighter pair of boots, but still keep your feet warm and dry! (I hate wearing wet socks all day).
Reply to this wow thanks for all the help. i'm going to rei soon and i will look into all of these 😊
Reply to this Hi again JackStar, this is the link I got my Gortex oversocks from http://www.scandex.com.au/GoreTexOversocks.shtml
Not sure where you are, but I was living in New Zealand at the time, Australia was the closest I could find them
