Is it possible to camp near machu pichu?

Is it possible to take the train up to machu pichu and camp on your own near it?

I was wondering if anyone know if it is possible to take the train up to machu pichu and then spend a night or 2 camping near machu pichu? Since im not doing the inca trail but still would like to camp up there, any help is apreciated thx. Reply to this

Aguas Calientes has a camp site I saw, it is only an hour hike or short bus ride to Machu Pichu. But I'm not sure if you can buy a train ticket there without a group. I know you can pay for a tour to the Sacred Valley, and then from there buy your own ticket, but you'll want to inquire in Cuzco with someone more confident on how to do that. Reply to this
