Is last minute booking on the Inca Trail possible?

I've seen on several posts and other places were people are saying they just grabbed a tour once they got to Cusco. My question is if that is a real possibility? Are there ways to maybe still make the trail or should I just give up and make other tour plans?

A 2 week window opened up in my schedule last minute so I'm headed to Peru for vacation. I will be there the last week in April/first week of May and I know the Inca Trail is officially booked up.

I've seen on several posts and other places were people are saying they just grabbed a tour once they got to Cusco. My question is if that is a real possibility? Are there ways to maybe still make the trail or should I just give up and make other travel plans? If it might be an option, any advice would be helpful and if not, advice on the best alternative to the tour as a way to see that area of Peru would be appreciated.

I went to Peru last year and unfortunately was not able to go on the Inca Trail given that I did not book it in advanced, at least three months. You can try but ...good luck!

I thin if it is booked up then jumping on a last minute tour won't happen unless someone who has signed up drops out. However I think that because of having to get permits and them being in people's name it probably isn't possible.

Tour operators do other tours that aren't neccesarily the inca trail but go aorund that region. If you just want to see Machu Picchu you can do that without going on the Inca trail. Reply to this

Hi,

You should try with www.adventureswithinreach.com, they might help you with this. I went with them last year and they were awesome getting all what I wanted.
