Hi there...about to be in Northern Argentina for a month. I\\\'m not going further south than Buenos Aires. Any suggestions on what to do up north? I\\\'m into mountains and trekking, if people having suggestions on that. I\\\'m definitely gonna check out that mountain near Mendoza, the highest peak in the Americas (forget the name, Ancagua maybe?). Besides that, I\\\'ll be doing the usual suspects...Salta, Cordoba, Mendoza, Iguazu...any other suggestions? Cheers Reply to this

Yes alot!
Iguazu falls ( a wonder of the world).
Jujuy and Tucuman, old mostly indigenous towns, as opposed to Buenos Aires which is mostly immigrants offspring. There is a train ( el Tren de las Nubes) that goes up into the Andes....a taste of what it like to go to Bolivia..... Reply to this

Iguazu falls is a must see. Make sure you are able to cross over to Brazil as the best views are from that side (close up experience best in Arg) you only need a day on either side to do this. Local buses run from Puerto Iguazu & Foz do Iguaccu to the falls as well as between the two cities. If you like something off the tourist trial head over to Ciudad del Este for a bit of market shopping, beware of being wripped off though but it's a must experience.

Misiones is the Argentine province where the falls are & is also absolutely beautiful, green rainforests with red soil everywhere. There are streams, creeks & rivers everywhere. You don't have to go too far to find a nice place to swim or a fall in the middle of the forest. Misiones is also off the beaten trial but the people are very easy going & are helpful. Places that I would recommend visting are Salto Encantado & Ruinas Jesuitas.

Mendoza is good for trekking, hiking & adventure sports. Aconcagua is a bit harder to get to but there are plenty of good places to hike just outside Mendoza, especially in the old road to Chile.

Beunos Aires is probably one of the nicest cities in South America, it has a European feel to it. Food, culture, sights really nice city, highly recomend. Also take a tour to an Estancia just outside BA for a bit of culture & more food!!!

Other places to see in norhten Arg would be; natural hot water springs in Entre Rios (not far from Buenos Aires), the hills in Cordoba, Salta city, Tren de las nubes... the places are endless. Reply to this
