Is Infocusco Tours Service a good tour operator? I am thinking of using their service for my Inca trial trip.
I am going to Peru in May and thinking of signing up with InfoCusco for a 4 day Inca trek. the thing is, they require me to send half the money in first using Western Union.
I wonder if that's ok.
Thanks in advance.
Reply to this Hi,
I just posted about the inca trail two seconds ago. I don't know anything about InfoCusco but I did do the inca trail with SAS Travel Peru and they were great. They fed us loads and did everything they said they would. I also felt safe with them. We had meetings before we went to meet everyone and as their company was very popular they had more than one group going. They also have a main office on the (main) square in Cusco. Sorry about the lack of address for the office but it was two years ago.
Reply to this Hi, I have just sign up with Alltrek Cusco. It's cheaper and I have seem others use them.... I think it ok....

Reply to this I wanted to say to you that May is a very good month to make the Inca trail, you chose a very good season, to reserve your tour you will always have to pay 50 %!f(MISSING)irst and then the remaining 50 %!,(MISSING) tha´s how the reservation sistem of the Inca trail works, All agencies have different prices for the inca trail depending on the quality of service that they offer. If you are gpoing to send by western union send the money only for the agncy who´s going to give you the services.
good luck
Mauro
Reply to this exactly my first payment was 50% by western union company and balance in Cusco. I sent to infocusco general manager: Ramiro Ponce de leon.
Reply to this Good to hear it Charles - Ive booked through the same company - coincidently also in May Tod.
Reply to this Just a note that Charles sounds like he may work for Infocusco! If not, apologies Charles.
Reply to this Has anyone else used InfoCusco ? We are thinking of using them for the Inca trail.
Reply to this We (me and some friends) have booked our trek through their website. The process was very easy and, from the beginning, we were sure that everything was going to be perfect. That was the case because our Trek has been an unforgettable experience.

Reply to this Hi I used Infocusco. I payed 50% in advance by Western Union and the balance in Cusco. Everything went well. The guides were excelent and the service was good excepting the following:
- Ten days before our trip, they offered us accomodation in Cusco, and tempted us saying that if we booked the hotel through Infocusco they would offer us the transportation from the airport to the hotel and viceversa. We decided to book through Infocusco and not only was the hotel overpriced but also they forgot to pick us up at the airport (we have to call them and wait 1h at the parking). Additionally (and even worse), although we talked to 3 different people (Lia - the person in charge of the reservations, and Juan carlos and Guilmer - the guides) the day before leaving Cusco, they never sent us the car to take us to the airport. Fortunately the receptionist from the hotel helped us to get a taxi (at our own charge...).
- During the informative meeting the day before starting the trek they informed us that the last night we would have to give a tip to the "porteadores" and mentioned that "everybody does it and we do not want to be the only ones not to do it because who know what could happen". Additionally, the last night in the camp they even suggested that it should be no less than 50 soles.
- Infocusco was the only company not to provide water and soap to wash hands before eating.
Reply to this Hi,
we did the trek with www.perutreks.com We were not very happy with the office staff and they did not have the chemical toilets as promised. Well this was not a problem to be honest. We did not carefully read the terms and conditions and had no cash to pay the rest of the amount during the briefing. The way we were treated was not OK at all, and if we would not have already paid the deposit we would have left and done the trek with somebody else.
However everybody on the trek itself was great. Super cool guides, excellent cooks and friendly porters. Material was OK, but the sleeping bags could be warmer. The people on the trek made the difference and let us forget the nasty intermezzo with the office staff. One of the guides has no setup a own operation and I'd like to also put his link in this post: www.incatrekkers.com

massimo
Reply to this Hello,
we had water and soap all days, maybe the cooker forgot to give it. I think the important thing is that the cost is not expensive than other agencies..
Reply to this Hi,
I would recommend you www.mijnbestemmingperu.nl, a dutch peruvian organization with european standards with accounts and offices in europe and Peru , my trip was great and they did everything they promised.
Its hard to find a good travel operators who know our expectations considering that in Peru there are thousands of informal travel agancies which promises you a lot and at the end is different..
so good luck in finding one, my advice is www.mijnbestemmingperu.nl
