Inca trail- Boots versus walking shoes

I keep looking at all the blogs & pictures & dont see to many people wearing hiking boots. Is it a waste to bring them or should I just get great cross-trainers?

it seems that the extra weight (especially if wet) would make them more of a liability than an asset

let me know your thoughts. 90+% of the pics show people wearing regular shoes

thanks for your help

less than 2 months to go

woo hoo!!

also, let me know if anyone plans on starting the trail april 14th or 15th

thanks

Hi man, u won´t have to use those .... speciail boots you are taking about, you are not getting into the deep jungle, just wear your tennis and make sure that won´t drown cause sometimes it´s rainning, so have fun. Reply to this

I bought my hiking boots but they were a waste of time. Well when I went it was dry and you can definitely work in trainers. Reply to this

awesome. You both made up my mind not to take them though they are nice. I think I will buy some nice cross-trainers & call it a day Reply to this
