My husband and I are moving to Chile and will be driving our Westy van from the US. We would like to spend several months in Iquitos during the journey but are unsure if we can transport our van to Iquitos via barge/ferry. Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

We spent many days on these barcas in the Amazon and they were all big enough to take a car - they are cargo boats with passenger space but I suppose they make money on cargo mostly. I suggest you try to contact Mike who runs a paper down there: http://www.iquitostimes.com/
