11 years ago, February 28th 2013 No: 1 Msg: #166833
If I want to visit Mexico for just under 6 months am I going to have to show proof of funds at customs? (Flying into Mexico City from London UK with Canadian passport.)

I haven't a clue how many peso they would consider acceptable for that lenth of a stay..

Thanks in advance for any advice!! Reply to this

I have been to Mexico city once and didn't stay there for that long, however the best place to kick start your research is to search it under the Canadian government the requirements you need if your staying In Mexico for that period of time. They are normally accurate and will give you the right amount of how much you need to pay in pesos.

When I went to Mexico city, a little advice: exchange your Canadian into pesos and don't even bother bringing American dollars. They don't accept American dollars there and it would be hard to exchange, you would have to find a bank somewhere in the city. They will gladly exchange your Canadian dollars with no hassle.

Since you will be visiting the Canadian government, it's good to advice them of your stay there so just in case something devastating would happen, Canada is aware your there and they will make sure to come to the rescue. Reply to this
