Need advice on how much I should save to get me through 3 months in Peru

Hello everyone!

I'm heading to Peru in March, not with too much of an itinerary as I want to leave things open so that the adventure can unfold as it wants to. As March approaches I'm starting to get a bit nervous I must confess, but I'm sure that my fears are unfounded. I was pretty sure that I had saved up a good enough chunk of change to last me awhile on a minimalistic budget. I want to stay in hostels, might try a homestay, and might try to volunteer somewhere that included room and board. all that aside, how much would you guys reccomend that I have with me while I'm traveling. not including the flight to and from Peru - but definitely including flights within peru. I know its kind of hard to say, since everyones journey is different, but a ballpark might help, just so I know wether I'm way off base with this one or not -
