Hello Jack and welcome to Travelblog!

To give you the short answer, yes you will need a visa, but that type of visa will depend on what you will do when in Australia, and your age.

If you are visiting Australia just for holidays, you can apply for the eVisitor visa. That link is the official government website.

If you intend to engage in a working holiday then consult the Australian Government's Visa Wizard which can point you in the direction of the correct visa. The 417 Working Holiday Visa allows people between the ages of 18-30 inclusive to work whilst in Australia.
