I'm planning a trip to Sydney and want to know about cheap hotels in the Kings Cross area. I've only found one site

Can anyone suggest anywhere else to look?

Sydney is great, but why not stay at Manly Beach on the northern beaches, which is only 15minutes by Jet Cat or 30 mins by ferry from the centre of Sydney. There is a good website called manlylife.com.au which has accomodation options, things to do, a gig guide, photos of the beach, the surf etc, etc so you can get an idea what its like. Check it out. Hi everyone,

I just want to say that I found this cool holiday planning interactive map on www.mapmyadventure.com which allows you to plan every aspect of your holiday. I recommend you go check this out as it is very popular and helpful. You an also pick up some good hotel deals from www.statravel.co.uk. Reply to this

I stayed at a place called Glebe Point Motel once and it was cheap and it had a pool on the roof, which was a bonus when it was so hot. I heard that the Kings Cross area is a bit dodgy (I think it's the red light district) but if that doesn't bother you they are the cheapest. But try Glebe its really bohemian and have some really good cafes around also they have a market I think on Sat, that I heard is worth checking out. Reply to this

Kings Cross is usually a great place to stay and close to all the night life (it is also a bit seedy, but beggars can't be choosers.

As JillHelen says, try www.luxurybackpackers.com. you may find it is a bit more expensive, but well worth it.
