Recently it seems as if there is an increase in travel bloggers recommending other travel bloggers and I am happy to see that.
Some travel bloggers and moderators seem hesitant to recommend other bloggers. I must admit in the past I struggled with that a bit. I imagine we all wonder whether a certain blogger is of the quality to deserve our recommendation ....or not. Is that ego?
How do you make that decision? Do you think you've been too stingy with your recommendations, too liberal or just right? What are your views, thoughts and comments?
Reply to this I have to say that I tend to recommend bloggers that I want to follow, so that it alerts me on my control panel when they have published something. It isn't necessarily that I am alerting other people to quality blogs (although the fact that I want to read it must say something I guess).
In terms of who I like to follow - it tends to be blogs that are a bit humourous with some good pictures, visiting countries that I'm interested in, or living in a country I'm interested in living in. As a teacher, I like to read blogs about other teachers experiences in different countries.
If anything, I don't think I recommend enough. There are many blogs that I follow through the front page that I haven't recommended yet, generally cos I haven't got around to it. I should fix that this year....
Reply to this We are the same as Kris and Kate, we usually recommend blogger so that their blog appears on our feed...it's easy to miss blogs sometimes when we are travelling and can't always log on.
We tend to follow bloggers who are visiting countries we are planning to visit/interested in or if their writing style catches our attention. We are definitely trying to be more active with the recommending, we have been a little bit slack too!
