Need advice on where to go and what to do.
My freind and I are planning a backpacking trip through some of South America. We are landing in Quito, Ecuado. Our only real activity plan so far is hitting the Inca trail. We hope to travel down through Chile to Patagonia and back up to Buenos Aires. What are some must see places or activities?
Reply to this While I have loved Chile, I think the national parks and mountains for hikes are more accessible in Argentina. Admittedly, in my year of travel, I've not made it north of Mendoza, but northern Arg is supposedly to have great mountains around Jujay and Cordova, and I've really loved the hiking in Caviahue, El Chalten, and the Lake District in general. Also, supposed to be a "poor person's Galapagos"on Ecuador's coast.
