Dear Friends:
We are PeruRail, the train service that covers the route Cusco-Machu Picchu and Cusco-Titicaca Lake, in Peru.
Today we want to tell you about the train route to Machu Picchu, that for some months departure from Cusco by bus and no by train as before.

In Peru, November marks the start of the rain season in provinces like Cusco (province where Machu Picchu is), as recorded the heavy rain makes hills landslide and the river, that runs next to the train tracks rise. This is why Ferrocarril Transandino S.A (FTSA) has decided to suspend the train transit from Cusco to Ollantaytambo looking for the safety of other fellow travelers foreign and national. This discontinuation remains in force due to maintenance and repair work on the roads.

But don’t worry; if you have your train ticket from Cusco- Machu Picchu-Cusco won’t have problems, because a bus will take you from Cusco (Wanchaq station) to Ollantaytambo station, where you will board the train to Machu Picchu, proceeding the same way for the return trip.
For us your safety is very important. We are trying our best to offer you a unique travel experience and we are willing to support you at all times.
See you on board! Reply to this
