The most amazing trip to Venezuela....
17 years ago, December 4th 2006 No: 1 Msg: #8925
I got back from the most amazing trip to Venezuela about 2 months ago and as Ive run out of friends to tell I thought I could share my experiences here.

Dont ask me why I wanted to learn Spanish because I have no idea why. And as to why I chose "The Travelling Classroom", well, Im not sure of that either. One things for sure though - I have no regrets and have experienced the trip of a lifetime already!...with many years of travelling ahead of me hopefully

I did a 3 month trip (6 is also possible) and can safely say I can speak Spanish now having gone there knowing some basics. Along with daily Spanish classes "on the move", we had the opportunity to do a kayaking trip down the Orinoco Delta, hiked through jungles and saw ancient settlements and met the locals. Also had a jeep safari, hiking in the mountains, saw amazing waterfalls, made bush camps for camping and also stayed in luxurious lodges. The last 2 weeks were spent chilling out at the beach. Spanish classes were ongoing all the time but the atmosphere was really chilled and there was always something being planned....

Im just realising how difficult it is to put this into words. But, for anyone wanting to do an adventure holiday (and have the bonus of learning Spanish!)....or for anyone wanting to learn Spanish (and have an adventure holiday thrown in ).... Basically, it was amazing! Anyone want to know more, drop me a line...

Hi!!

Have just read your blog and got very excited.

I have been thinking about taking a trip to Ecuador to learn Spanish in September - for approx 3 months. I have basic knowledge but in no way fluent!!

I was wondering if people went for as long as three months.... but they obviously do! Have you met lots of people?

So would you recommend chucking in my london job and coming out to SA...... who did you go with (on your own / with friends / tour operator? Can you help me out with how to choose a good Spanish course??

i really want to do it now!!

look forward to hearing from you

Krysia
