My wife and I will be visting Broome next April. We are looking for places to go / things to do outside of Broome.

We are looking for places worth going to see / stay at. We are booked into Broome for 4 nights, but have another 2/3 nights available. most of the tour brochures are for 6 days/nights+.

Any suggestions welsome. Also any tourist traps / rip-offs to be avoided in and around Broome.

Ok, it has been a long time since I have been to Broome, but there is not a lot in the immediate area that is close. The distances are very big in that part of Australia. However, if you get a chance, do head to the Kimberleys - I can recommend Geike Gorge located in Fitzroy Crossing. Any journey along the Gibb River Road will have some beautiful sidetrips such as Tunnel Creek National Park and Windjana Gorge. The Bungle Bungle range is supposed to be spectacular, but it may be too far from Broome to visit easily. Reply to this
