has anyone been to see a football match in buenos aires ?? my trip in argentina coincides with a home game for the boca juniors, i have been quoted us$150 for the experience including transfers, is this a worthwhile experience ie atmosphere, safety etc . im a huge football fan but the price is rather off putting........ please help me lol !!
Reply to this We went to watch Boca last year. The prices we were quoted for an organised trip was crazy so we decided to do it ourselves. The match (vs Velez Sarsfield) was on Sunday evening so on Sunday morning we went down to the ticket office and bought 2 seats in the upper tier for AR$60 (
In the evening we walked down, stopped for a choripan at a very local place full of Boca fans, then walked to the ground. The security at the ground is tight with a couple of check points before you get in. After the game had finished we walked back to our hostel in San Telmo.
The whole thing from ticket buying in the morning to getting home in the evening went without a hitch. Reply to this If I recall correctly having paid about 30 USD for watching Boca Juniors - Interdependiente two years ago through an official agency that advertised in our hostel and I was told by fellow travelers you could also easily purchase a ticket yourself on the day of the match and pay much less. I don't know whether prices are still comparable but USD 150 seems way too much!
