Can anyone explain to to me how, when and why the triple exclamation mark (!!!) became acceptable punctuation in English?
Can anyone explain to me what it means that is not implied by a single mark(!) and why the double exclamation mark (!!) is so rare?

Reply to this In answer to the opening post: As regards double or triple exclamation marks, I think people add them according to how strongly they feel about what they are saying. 3 would mean they feel very strongly about it. I dont think it is officially correct, but poetic licence applies, for bloggers.
