Hi Guys, I;m preparing for my trip which is Brazil and Peru. I watched the prices for flights from Rio to Cuzco - they are very high! 1200 USD, are these the prices or did I do something wrong. Give me some advices about how to flight fro Brazil to Peru.

Thanks. Reply to this

Try Rio to Lima rather than Cusco. And then seperately Lima to Cuzco - it would probably be different airlines that do not coop so much and thus when you do try to find the one that combines it is very expensive.

Then, try also to fly Rio to locations in central america - like San Jose in Costa Rica. Some of the itiniearies you will get this way, will go through Lima, and then you could get off in Lime and never take the connecting flight onwards to San Jose.... This might come out cheaper. If this is eventually your cheapest way, try booking the connecting onwards flight within almost 24 hours, so that you would have a night stop over in Lima - and this will make it easy with sending your luggage only up to Lima and not all the way to San Jose... Otherwise, you may get off but your luggage not.

If these 2 options don't make it - try to fly out of Sao Paulo rather than Rio. It is 5 hours bus ride between the two and it costs around 35$. Or there are plenty of flights connecting these 2 cities and these may sometimes be even cheaper than the bus option. Reply to this

Hi,

Sapir is spot on. Can I add, have a look at flying with Copa through Panama, quite often they are way cheaper. Another way is to look at a return ticket, take a 6 days return, this is where you'll find the cheapest fare....and just don't use the return.

For info, Rio to Lima is not a short flight, did it already, you speak of around 5 hours...and not much competition between airlines, so don't expect dirt cheap flights.

Hope this help,
