Hi Friends

Ok so we set off to Rio 27th May - the year & a half of hell living in a shite town away from your best friends spending your days going insane at your £7.50 an hour office job is nearly over!

Our basic route is as follows:

Rio - Buenos Aires - La Paz - Cusco - Mancora - Montanita - Medellin - Cartagena - Bogota

We will be taking in the Salt Flats, Machu Pichu (via the train!) & Rurrenbague etc along the way but we really just want to know the party hostels that we really shouldn't miss out on?

We had some really good advice from friends on here before about good party towns but please feel free to send us as much info as possible.... we are extremely grateful.

So yeah please send us your favourite party hostels along the way.

Nice one! Keep smiling

There's lots of great hostels with a great party scene. My favourites:

Rio - Ipanema Beach House (even has a pool).

Igazu falls - not sure if you're going here, but its a nice way to break up the trip between Rio and B.A., plus the falls are absolutely amazing! Stay at Hostel Inn Igazu, its an old converted casino outside of town, and has parties everynight. One of the best hostels I've stayed at.

Buenos Aires - Milhouse (the original) in the centre, or Tango Backpackers in Palermo. Milhouse is great because its so central to everything, and they organize nights out to the clubs. Tango is closer to Plaza Serrano in Palermo, as well as all the clubs iand restaurants in Palermo, but not as clean. Depending on how much time you have in B.A., you could always spend a few days at both.

La Paz - Wild Rover is great, stayed there. I heard that Loki is also nice.

Cusco - Loki.

Mancora - Loki (can you see a theme here????).

Montanita - can't remember the name of the place I stayed at, but there's lots of nice hostels on the main strip.

Medellin - didn't go there, sorry. Have heard good things about Black Sheep though.

Cartagena - stayed at the "Hotel Holiday", not sure if there's proper hostels in Cartegna, but this place was great, full of backpackers and there's a courtyard where everyone hangs out and then hits the town together after.

Bogota - Hostel Sue was nice, very social. Not sure if this one is really a "party hostel" though, but still worth staying at.

Good luck and have fun! Reply to this
