Best option to go from Lima to Cuzco.
We're going back to Buenos Aires in March/April '10 !!!!!! and I don't want to miss out on Machu Pichu this time. I think we can forgo the inca trail, as we don't really have the time, so we're after some experiences on your travels from Lima to Cuzco, whether we hang the expense for the ease (if any) to fly there or take the scenic route by bus for 20 hours and save some bucks.
I've done some homework on the net for prices and such, but the best info is from fellow travellers, so your advice will be appreciated and I'll let you know how things go in March!
thanx
Reply to this when we did this route a long time ago we flew and it was so much easier.
if you are tight for time and can afford the extra cost then fly - you will not be tired on arrival for your trek.
Reply to this Agree. I also flew Lima to Cusco, and stayed at Lima airport overnight as many do.
A scenic bus ride is easier to arrange another time than a trip to MP is, so spend the extra time hanging out at the site. Highly recommend climbing Wayna Picchu, but do that in the morning as it's restricted to 400 people a day.
