I am a student from Brazil and would like to know Perito Moreno from Buenos Aires. I would like some information and experiences of travel to this region, to guide my journey. Thanks !
Reply to this The best way to get to Perito Moreno from BsAs is to fly to El Calafate. You could fly on Lan Chile or Aerolineas Argentinas. Once you are in El calafate you could book a tour at one of the hostels to go to PM. It is absolutely magnificent and a must see. Depending on how many days you stay in the area you could also take a bus and go to El Chalten. It is +- 1 hour from Calafate and here you can hike and enjoy the beauty of Patagonia. It is also home to Mount Fitzroy - any mountain climbers dream.
Ciao!
Reply to this As Nelieta recommended, It's best flying there because it would take at least 2 days in buses (not direct) from Buenos Aires whereas it's just a 3 hour flight. As well as Perito Moreno and El Chalten, I highly recommend making a trip to Torres del Paine in Chile. You can book at the day tour at most hostels and travel agents in Calafate. I stayed in the Marcopolo Inn whilst in Calafate and highly recommend it. I look forward to returning in the not too distant future. Happy travels, Dawn
