Hi Matty 1,

I am back from my trip in Cuba, (it was in July, I returned in August but have been swamped with work since then!). IT WAS FANTASTIC!!!! If I had more money I would have stayed 6 months more!!!!
The way my trip unfolded was really something special I think, in a way that only Cubanos can make happen! I stayed in Casas the entire time, and did lots of walking yes, but I met lots of local people who took me around the "local way" lol I loved the wva wva and the camion!
I travelled from Havana, Trinidad, Santiago and Baracoa on this trip. I was caught in a tornado in Trinidad btw! On my next trip I'll visit other places, particularly Vinales.

I have quite a few pictures, and lol irregardless of the laptop warning I still took mine for journal writing etc. I ended up showing movies I stored on it to the locals and ofcourse it came in handy to download my pictures.

I'll have to tell you more about my trip and share some of my pics with you!

Thanks again for your advice 😊 Reply to this

Great! lol cause my friends here are tired of me telling them! lol they are just jealous :P

The only thing I was bummed about was the fact I didn't bring my underwater camera. I went snorkelling at a beach in Siboney ( the beach was just called Siboney beach) and literally as I stepped into the water I was surrounded by this dense thriving reef! It was something! While snorkelling I saw these 3 baby octopuses ( which I thought I was unusal because normally i see them by themselves) swimming along and I followed them without realising how far out into the deep water i had gone, when i did surface, needless to say i was a bit scared, lol as much as I love diving and snorkelling I am terrified of the water believe it or not. lol Immediately I start looking around for sharks or baracuda! It was something special, I changed my itininary to spend a few extra days on that beach because of the reef.

( I live in the Caribbean, so I am use to seeing white/black sand beaches and crystal/ aquamarine blue seas that are warm, so I didn't visit too many touristy beaches) but Siboney, I have to say was something special! Reply to this

I just got back from 8 days in Cuba. It was really amazing, you have nothing to worry about it. I'm writing about it day by day. Check it out and ask me any questions you have!

The beach is beautiful and it does have coral and water shoes do make a difference. However there are spots that you can get into the water without them. Great Place for vacation. Reply to this

I am travelling to Cuba next year and I amreally excited about it. Just want to share the book I have read about Cuba. In this book I have discovered how to travel to Cuba by knowing its history and other pertinent matters about the country. Cuba On My Mind: Cuba From Columbus To Fidel Castro. It was a gift from a colleague and can be found in Amazon Kindle.

Hope it helps travel enthusiasts like me!
