Hi

can someone please let me know which is the best means of transportation around South America?

Is it possible to train in between the south american countries?
is it better to train or bus?

Thank you 😊 Reply to this

cant think of any trains but there are certainly buses, for example from Peru - Chile - Argentina. Am pretty sure there's one from Argentina to Bolivia too, and Argentina - Paraguay and of course Argentina - Brazil. Argentina - Uruguay is a boat. Reply to this

There are virtually no cross border trains left in South America and very few left inside the countries themselves except for urban rail. The buses are generally good, very good in Brazil, Chile and Argentina. Every country has some sort of bus transport to neighbouring countries. Reply to this

We didn't come across any cross border trains and very few long distance trains in a single country, the only exceptions was the death train from Quijarro to Santa Cruz in Bolivia. The buses in most countries are the only option. Reply to this
