Maybe, if my internet use was as out of control as the person the above quote comes from, then I would go cold turkey. The internet should be useful, not some kind of mindless activity, most of the time.
Reply to this just saw this thread. Good topic. I'm probably a bit more of an internet-a-holic than I like to admit, but still loads less than a lot of people. I'm not on facebook or any of the others, but I do like the odd forum. But when I'm away, I actually really like being away from the internet and the constant sensory overload you get from it. I'd like to think I'd give it up if I got seriously addicted, but then if I was seriously addicted I probably wouldn't want to! I do think it's a bit of a worry though that so many people these days spend so much time on it and live in more of a virtual world than a real one.

I think it is what people do on the internet, rather than how long they spend on it, that is or isnt the problem.
Reply to this My girlfriend is at home for the weekend so I'm in the flat on my own. I've been online almost all the time since I got up, reading the sports news, the British papers and of course TravelBlog. I could only go 'cold turkey' if I had something exciting to do, which right now I don't!
