My boyfriend and I are headed to Argentina for 8 days between Christmas and New Year's. We're definitely spending a couple of days in BA with friends but want to explore more of the country after that. Do we have enough time to do Mendoza AND Patagonia, or do we have to choose just one? We're both big wine drinkers and hikers and are totally torn. Any insight/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!
Reply to this Go to Patagonia and skip Mendoza. With only 8 days you don't have time for both. Mendoza is just a city surrounded by vineyards. Patagonia blows your socks off.
Reply to this Whatever you do you will be rushed.Maybe better off heading up to the Iguazu Falls then getting the boat across to Uraguay. Both are close to BA.See Patagonia and Mendoza when you have more time to really enjoy these gorgeous places
Reply to this If you fly to Bariloche, the place is amazing, and you can have a lot of fun there...don't forget to go rafting if you do have time. Iguacu is another amazing place, you can fly there too, and 24 hours at the Falls is enough.
Reply to this You are going to struggle to see much in that time!! I'm not a big city fan but spent 6 days in BA and only just saw everything I wanted to. The suggestion to head to Iguazu Falls is a good one as it is easy to get to from BA.
You won't have time to see much of Patagonia so I would say you should go to Mendoza if you are stuck on your suggestions of places...
Reply to this Mendoza is a nice place to visit. Here you could do wine tasting on bycicles! But I agree with some of the comments here. If you had more time visit Mendoza. Spend some time in BsAs. Go to Iguazu which is magnificent. Fly down to El Calafate and visit Perito Moreno glacier. if you want to experience more of Patagonia take a bus and go to El Chalten (+- 1 hour). Here you could hike and see Mount Fitzroy. The fly back to BsAs.
