I am in NZ on a visitor visa and have decided to extend my stay for a couple of months specifically to do some WWOOFING. I've read on the website that you need to have a working holiday visa. Is this right or are people doing this on a visitors visa with no problems? I don't want to go and pay the membership if I can't actually go to any farms? If this is the case does anyone else know of any other schemes where I don't need the working visa?
Reply to this actually, form what I know (as my sister is in Australia at the moment) you can stay there for a year as a visitor...but if you want to stay longer you have to work in a farm for 3 months to get your visa extended.
Other option is to get a job and find a sponsor that will pay the gov. for your working visa ( up to 3 years? not so sure thou).
try to see some more info on the govrnmt sites...
Good luck... :-)
Reply to this Hi Rachel,
What passport are you traveling on?
With WWOOFing you don't receive financial payment, so I'm sure quite a few would just be on visitors visas. I have a friend who used the scheme in Europe, and she was only there on visitor visas.
Reply to this I think officially you are meant to have a WHV, but I am sure there are people who WWOOF and dont.
Reply to this Cool, I've joined and it seems to be fine - thanks everyone!
