Hello Joanne and welcome to the Forum!

Bascially the rule with Australia is this - in June head north - stick to Queensland, Northern Territory and northern Western Australia. The weather is warm and sunny. Once you get to about October/November, it is time to head south as the north enters the rainy season and the south - such as Victoria, Tasmania, New South Wales - become warm and sunny. During the Australian winter period (April/May - September) the south of the country can be cool, rainy and not very pleasant for cruising.
